About The Artist

Visual art is one of my many passions, and painting has always been a personal favorite because of its naturally peaceful nature. I also have a deep appreciation for photography and often incorporate it into my paintings by recreating the photos I capture with my camera. My work tends to highlight the beauty in small, often overlooked moments, emphasizing the importance of noticing the details around us. I draw a lot of inspiration from other art forms as well, and that passion is reflected in everything I create.

Beauty In the Mundane

Photography

With many years of amateur photography in my pocket, I entered a photography class for the first time, and I fell in love. It fits in perfectly with my mission of bringing attention to the overlooked and finding the beauty in the little things. I prefer to alter my photos as little as possible to capture and portray what I actually saw. My photography work mostly consists of dance photography, as I draw so much inspiration from their movements and creativity, capturing their perfect, deliberate movements.

Painting

When I paint, I find my style is quite painterly yet still portrays realism. Painting for me has always been an escape; the peaceful nature of the craft brushing away the rest of the world. My work is always deeply meaningful to me. Though at first glance it may appear to be a painting of a shallow subject matter, all my pieces are working to bring attention to the little things that otherwise only I might have seen. Though I have taken classes on acrylic, gouache, oil, and water color, I strongly gravitate to acrylic paint for it’s quick dry time and easy application.

Graphic Art&Design

Though this is my newest art form, I have grown quite fond of it. I have designed countless logos and posters, and have taken too many digital art classes to count. I love to make posters for my band or for events I’m helping to organize, and though I have tools like Canva to make it easier for me, I love the personal touch of a hand-drawn piece. It’s me and my trusty iPad against the world when it comes to digital arts. I have developed a more cartoonish style for my digital artworks, which I really enjoy, especially for portraits.
